How DPShoppable handles data belonging to merchants who install the app and to the shoppers who watch videos on their stores.

Template — review before publishing

This document is a starting draft written for the DPShoppable marketing site. It is not legal advice. Have it reviewed against your actual data handling, your Shopify Partner obligations and the law in the jurisdictions you sell into before you go live.

01Who we are

DPShoppable is a Shopify application published by VISION AIR LTD and listed on the Shopify App Store as DPS Shoppable Video & UGC. In this policy, “we” means VISION AIR LTD, “merchant” means a Shopify store owner who installs the app, and “shopper” means a visitor to a merchant’s storefront.

For merchant account data we act as a controller. For shopper data collected on a merchant’s storefront we act as a processor on that merchant’s behalf.

02What we collect from merchants

  • Store details provided by Shopify at install: store name, myshopify domain, primary contact email, plan and locale.
  • Product catalogue data needed to power product tagging — titles, images, prices, variants and availability.
  • Videos and thumbnails you import or upload, and the tags you attach to them.
  • Configuration you set in the app: layouts, placements and widget settings.
  • Support correspondence you send us.

03What we collect from shoppers

When a shopper interacts with a DPShoppable widget on a merchant’s storefront we record the events needed to make the widget work and to report on it:

  • Which video was viewed, for how long, and which product tags were opened.
  • Add-to-cart events originating in the player.
  • Device and browser characteristics, approximate location derived from IP, and the page the widget appeared on.

We do not ask shoppers for names, addresses or payment details. Payment information is handled entirely by Shopify Checkout and never reaches us.

04Why we process it

  • To render the widget and keep tagged products accurate.
  • To produce the analytics a merchant sees — views, tag taps, add-to-carts and revenue per video.
  • To enforce the view and video limits of a plan.
  • To diagnose faults and answer support requests.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use shopper data to build advertising profiles.

05Sharing and sub-processors

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app — hosting, storage and content delivery, error monitoring, and the platforms you choose to import video from. Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions. We also disclose data where the law requires it.

06Retention

Merchant configuration, videos and analytics are retained while the app is installed. If you uninstall, we delete or anonymise your store data within 90 days, other than records we must keep for accounting or legal reasons. Shopify also sends us mandatory data-erasure requests, which we honour.

07Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold, to object to processing, or to complain to a supervisory authority. Write to admin@dpshoppable.app and we will respond within the time the applicable law allows.

Shoppers should contact the store they were shopping on first — that merchant controls the data and we will assist them with any request.

08Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to production systems is restricted to staff who need it, and API credentials issued by Shopify are scoped to the permissions the app declares at install. No system is perfect; if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the relevant authority as required.

09Changes and contact

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Questions go to admin@dpshoppable.app.
